Start and Stop a PostgreSQL Node
A clear, step-by-step guide that details the process of starting, stopping, and restarting a PostgreSQL node within your cluster. This overview focuses on executing the essential commands to manage the operational state of your node, ensuring it is correctly initialized, halted, or rebooted—all without delving into advanced configuration or long-term maintenance tasks.
Here's the primary node—your central hub of operations.

Click on the "plus" icon to expand and reveal all the standby nodes in your cluster.

This is a standby node, ready for monitoring and control.

Double-click a node to open its dashboard, where you can view detailed metrics and settings. When the node is up, you'll have options to stop or restart it, as indicated by available controls.

A green star signals that the node is running smoothly.

Now, to stop the node, simply press the "Stop" button.

This action triggers a process to halt the node, with a status update confirming that the shutdown sequence has begun.


Once the node has been successfully stopped, a red star will indicate its offline status and If the node is down, the only option presented is to start it.

When it’s time to bring the node back online, you'll find an option to start it within the interface.

This action initiates the node startup process, and you'll receive a status update confirming that the sequence has begun.


Alternatively, to restart the node, press the "Restart" button.

This initiates the restart process, with a status update indicating that the node is rebooting.



Finally, you'll receive confirmation that the node has been restarted successfully and is back online.
